Golden Sands is a resort town on the northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. The picturesque resort is situated in the area, which is a Bulgarian National park. Although located 17 km north of Varna, it is virtually connected to the city by a continuous swath of resorts and villa communities. It is a popular tourist destination, drawing many visitors from Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe and other countries, attracted by its favourable climate, scenic landscape, and reasonable prices.
Golden Sands is served by the Varna International Airport.It is a magnificent resort with richly wooded hills, white golden beach and clear blue sea. The resort's beach strip is 3,5 km. long and up to 100 m wide.It is a bearer of the prestigious BLUE FLAG prize for proven ecological advantages along the Black Sea coast. The average air temperature in Summer is 27-30 ºC and the water temperature is 25-28 ºC. Hot mineral water springs and woodlands cascading from the Frangen Plateau, forming the Zlatni Pyasatsi Nature Park, turn Golden Sands into one of the most popular tourist spots in Eastern Europe.
The mineral springs at Golden Sands give you health and beauty all year round. There are four particularly valuable mineral springs with a flow of 150 m3/sec. Several balneotherapy and fitness centers have been established on the basis of their curative properties. Because of its natural beauty, Golden Sands has become famous international sea resort.
